Love this purchase. I was used to a home made unit with real golf balls. These rubber weighted balls have great action. Very sturdy and assembles and comes apart in a couple mins.

Shipping box arrived with a damaged corner, but there was no damage to the ladder ball set. Steel ladders are sturdy and are a good weight. Bolas are soft and won't damage personal property. High quality material that will last a long time. Comes with a nice bag to store the set. Great game for all ages. This set will get a lot of use.

First off, ladder ball is my favorite lawn game. With that said, I have played on a number if ladder ball sets. My all time favorite is a homemade all wood set at a friend's house. The problem with that set, and the reason I didn't just make my own, is that it's not very portable, which is what led me here. The goal was to find a solid set that would last a while and that could be easily transported from place to place.Initial Impression: box arrived undamaged. Upon opening the box, I was greeted to a decent carrying bag for the set. Everything fits pretty easily into the bag with enough space that you don't have to really pack it in any particular order. It's also very light.Setup: setup was very, very simple. Everything just kinda pops into place and then you press it all together. I didn't read the instructions, but they seemed pretty straight forward at a quick glance. I found it easier to lay the side bar on the ground, putting the cross bars and then laying the other side bar on it and applying some weight to get it all together nice and snugly. Then flip it up and slide the set into the feet. Ready to go.Build quality: the ladders are made of relatively thin metal. They could bend with enough effort. It doesn't seem like they'll bend with normal use. I've had this now a few months and have had zero issues. When I pack it in my car, I don't throw heavy objects on top or anything like that. But I can see this lasting for a few years at least. Unlike the plastic ones that crack very easily. The metal slides into plastic slots, which I can imagine could crack after a lot of use or something. But I have seen no signs of any issues yet. The bolas are rubber, weight is really good on them. I also like the the rope is anchored inside the ball and not attached to the outside because I've seen those little tabs break off and render that bola useless (not that you can't replace them or anything).For the price I paid, which was just a few bucks more than the average plastic set, I'd say this was a 5 star choice. If it were a little more expensive, I may have expected thicker steel or something like that. This set will definitely suffice as my portable set. Maybe one day I'll make that wood set, but for now, I am very happy with my purchase. If anything changes, I will update my review.
